Statement of the Flame of Love Movement - June 17, 2010
IMPORTANT CORRECTION TO THE PETITION OF THE FLAME OF
LOVE
Declaration of Father Gabriel Róna, International Spiritual
Advisor of the Movement Flame of Love and translator of the
Spiritual Diary of Elizabeth Kindelmann from the original
Hungarian into Spanish for the FLAME OF LOVE OF THE
IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, about the petition added to the
Ave Maria as requested by the Blessed Mother:
Greetings to you all in the Lord!

I
address myself to you, dear brothers and sisters who already
know the message of the Flame of Love and to those involved
in the publication and the propagation of this message,
always with the approval of the officials of the Movement
Flame of Love according to its statutes approved by the
Church.
After having greeted you respectfully, I only want to deal
in this letter about the petition added to the Ave Maria as
requested by the Blessed Virgin. I declare before the Virgin
Mary and before you, that, having in front of me the copy of
the handwritten text of Mrs. Elizabeth Kindelmann, the
messenger of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of
Mary, I quote the following (in the original, all the
following text is written in red ink to emphasize its
importance, and the words of the petition are underlined):
... This is a request of the Blessed Virgin: "To the prayer
by which you honor Me, the Ave Maria, add the following
petition:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee, blessed art
Thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb
Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, spread
the effect of grace of Thy Flame of Love over all of
humanity, now and at the hour of our death. Amen."
I wish to entrust to you that it was not an easy task for me
to find a formula that fully conveys the expression "effect
of grace" so that it is the most intelligible to all. I must
also confess that I did not really understand the meaning of
this petition. I thought then that I had to first understand
what the Blessed Virgin meant to be able to translate it...
I understand now that it was the opposite that I should have
done: translate literally the words of the Blessed Virgin,
and if need be, I might humbly add a little explanation.
Forgive me, my dear brothers and sisters, for the
inconvenience that, despite my efforts, I have caused you...
Please accept gracefully this change in your prayer and
please understand that we must reflect this change in all
our documents.
In full agreement with the International Coordinators of the
Flame of Love Movement, Mr. Guilherme Morais and Mrs.
Rosália Morais (in Brazil), as well as the National
Coordinator of Canada, Mr. Marcel Dufour, this is the unique
and official formula of our Movement to be used henceforth
in all the English speaking countries. The outpouring of
grace will be even greater if we pray to the Blessed Virgin
as She had requested us.
Here is now a little teaching to try to understand the
expression “effect of grace”. As a concrete example: an
atmospheric change... What are its effects on humans,
especially on the sick people? We know that these are two
different things: the weather phenomenon and its effects on
us. In reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church, I
discovered with joy that while trying to explain each of the
sacraments, we first talk about the sacrament itself, and
then about the effects it produces in the soul. Similarly,
there is the outpouring of the extraordinary grace that the
Blessed Virgin has obtained from the Eternal Father through
the merits of Her Divine Son and its effects on the soul. I
reached the happy conclusion that the easiest way to make
the Flame of Love known is to speak about that grace and
explain its effects. There is a divine wisdom in the words
of the Blessed Virgin. We should not change them but explain
them in all humility.
Finally, I want to announce that on June 6, 2009 - a year
ago - his Eminence, Cardinal Dr. Peter Erdo, Primate of the
Church of Hungary and Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, had
attended the 10th National Congress of the Flame Love in
Budapest and he addressed to us very encouraging words. He
requested the reading of the decree which recognized the
existence of the Flame of Love Movement in his diocese, and
of the document by which he granted the Imprimatur to the
Spiritual Diary of Elizabeth Kindelmann. A very pleasant
surprise for those who were present: he himself wanted to
lead the recitation of one decade of the Rosary with the
petition of the Hail Mary as the Blessed Mother had
requested it. We were about 30 concelebrating priests, 1500
faithful, the International Coordinators and Mr. Gerard
Picard, representing Canada.
Thank you very much for your patience and your kindness in
reading this letter. May God bless you!
Your servant in the Lord,
Father Gabriel Róna, S.J. (Hungary)
International Spiritual Advisor of the Movement Flame of
Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
