With great joy, roughly 40 devotees of the Flame of Love in Ireland gathered at Dromatine Retreat Centre in Newry, Northern Ireland for the first Irish National Conference.
The organized Movement in Ireland began during strict COVID lockdown so, for most, this was the first opportunity to meet in person. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm. Devotees were blessed to be joined by Father Joseph Fazio, LC.
Our joy was made full when John Sullivan, Director of Communications and International Dissemination, read a letter from Győző Kindelmann, our International Director, appointing Kielty Oberlin National Coordinator for Ireland thus officially establishing the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Movement, Ireland.
Geraldine Halton serves as Secretary, Joe Sheehan as Treasurer, Frances Devaney and Eileen Boden as Spokespersons, and Alice Gibson and Marie Kelly as additional members of the Working Group.
The Working Group had indeed been at work and arranged speaking engagements all across the Republic of Ireland every day of John Sullivan’s stay. The group flew into coordinated action to provide transportation, housing, and advertising and our Lord and Lady open the doors before us to three parishes with welcoming priests, Radio Maria in Dublin, and Emmanuel House in Clonfert, a well known and respected centre for prayer, evangelization renewal, preaching and spreading God’s word.
Our challenge now is keeping up with the harvest! Please pray for the Flame of Love Movement in Ireland that, renewed by the effect of grace, it may be once again the land of Saints and Scholars.
